Q. How do I enroll for mDeposit?
A. Follow the link 'Enroll Now' above to complete the enrollment questionnaire and download the app from the App Store. At the App Store, search for Rockland Trust mDeposit. It may take up to five business days for us to send you your temporary password via email. We will call you with your Username. Please note that this app is separate from Online Banking and the Mobile Banking app, so you may have a different Username.  You must have a Rockland Trust checking account to use mDeposit. If you want to open a new business account, please visit one of our branches.

Q. Do I need to pre-qualify for mDeposit?
A. There is a screening process that we follow after you complete the questionnaire.  Essentially we want to ensure that you are a customer in good standing.

Q. Do I need to take a photo of both the front and back of the check?
A. Yes.  The app will prompt you to take a picture of both the front and back of your check. As in any deposit, you will need to endorse the check and enter your checking account number.

Q. How do I know if the picture of the check is clear enough for deposit?
A. Once you take the picture of the check, you will be asked if you think it is clear enough. When you submit it, the app will review your submission. If the picture is not clear enough it will let you know and prompt you to take the pictures again.

Q. What should I do with the check after I have deposited it through the phone?
A. You should hold on to the check until you receive an email notification from us that your deposit has been accepted. The app will tell you that the deposit "upload" was successful. However, that doesn't mean that the deposit is complete. You should hold your paper items for at least 48 hours to ensure your deposit processes accurately.  If for any reason your check is returned, we will send you an image of the item you initially deposited for verification.

Q. How long does it take to deposit the funds/when will the funds be available?
A. Generally, funds will be available the next day if you make your deposit before 7 p.m. EST.

Q. How will I know the deposit was accepted?
A. If you make the deposit during a business day before 7 p.m. EST, you will receive an email from us that day letting you know if the deposit was accepted or if there was an issue. If you deposit after 7p.m. EST during a business day or anytime on a weekend or holiday, you will receive notification the next business day.

Q. What do I do if the deposit isn't accepted?
A. If there is an issue with the deposit, you will receive an email giving you directions on what to do next.

Q. Do I need to use a deposit slip?
A. No. Sending a clear picture of the front and back of the check is all that's needed for the deposit.

Q. Do I need to endorse the check?
A. Yes.  All checks deposited, regardless of how they are deposited, are required to be endorsed with your signature and the account number you are depositing to.

Q. Is there a limit to how many checks I can deposit? How will I know what that limit is?
A. While this service is convenient, depositing more than a few checks using Rockland Trust mDeposit will take time as you will have to deposit each check separately. If you have a large number of checks to deposit, it will probably be better for you to come to one of our branches. A rule of thumb is that more than 10 checks should mean a trip to one of our branches.
