Rockland Trust’s Affiliated Charitable Foundations Award $140,000 to Nine Organizations in First Phase of COVID-19 Relief Grants

The charitable foundations have committed $500,000 of support for COVID-19 relief efforts

Hanover, MA – May 1, 2020 – Rockland Trust’s two affiliated charitable foundations (Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation, Inc. and Rockland Trust-Blue Hills Charitable Foundation, Inc.) announced the first phase of COVID-19 pandemic grants. Phase one involves $140,000 in total grants to nine local non-profit organizations specifically selected due to the strong relationships they have built within the communities they serve. The foundations have committed to granting $500,000 for pandemic relief efforts, and intend to award remaining funds in additional phases in the coming weeks.

“Rockland Trust’s affiliated charitable foundations are honored to support the critical work being done in our communities,” said Edward Seksay, President and Chair of both the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation, Inc. and the Rockland Trust – Blue Hills Charitable Foundation, Inc. “We are truly grateful to these organizations for providing necessary resources when they are most needed.”

The organizations selected for the initial phase of grants serve dozens of cities and towns in the Rockland Trust footprint of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. They include the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts, The Boston Foundation, the United Way of Greater Plymouth County, the Worcester Together Fund, the United Way of Cape & Islands, the Community Foundation of Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, the Rhode Island Foundation, and the United Way Tri-County.
