Rockland Trust Awards Annual Scholarships to High School Seniors

 
ROCKLAND, Mass. (June 18, 2015) - Rockland Trust announced today its 2015 scholarship winners, awarding six $2,500 scholarships to high school graduates in communities from Cape Cod and the South Shore to Greater Boston. The bank selected winners within its footprint who exemplify a commitment to excellence and service in their community. Awards were based on academics, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and an essay about why community service is important to them.

Rockland Trust received 420 applications this year and awarded a $2,500 scholarship to each of the following students:

  • Hiroto Watanabe of Yarmouthport, from the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School
  • Kerrin Mulkern of Kingston, from Silver Lake Regional High School
  • Bridgit Murray of Norton, from Bishop Feehan High School
  • William Gildea of Cohasset, from Boston College High School
  • Emily Crampton of Woburn, from Woburn Memorial High School
  • James O’Donnell of Norwood, from Norwood High School

Chris Oddleifson, Rockland Trust’s President and CEO, and Jane Lundquist, Executive Vice President and Director of Consumer and Small Business Banking presented the scholarships at a special reception for the students and their families at the bank’s corporate offices in Hanover.
