Rockland, Mass. (September 5, 2018) – The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation recently granted $25,000 to American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC). The donation will help support ACCC’s youth financial literacy and life skills program.
“We are grateful for the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation’s generous support for our programming serving young people,” said Steve Trumble, President and CEO of American Consumer Credit Counseling. “Their investment will help us deliver on our mission to teach good financial management to our youth, providing them with critical skills they will need to be successful later on in life.”
With 91 percent of Americans supporting the addition of personal finance to a high school curriculum, most agree on the importance of financial education. Further, a recent poll found that most high school students also want to learn more about personal finance. ACCC’s financial education for youth is designed to assist parents in talking to kids as young as five about money, up through college. Their resources include fun activities and games for all ages and cover core concepts, such as understanding currency, spending, credit, and budgeting.
“The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation is pleased to award this grant to American Consumer Credit Counseling for their youth financial literacy programs,” said Edward Seksay, Chair of the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation Board of Directors. “Teaching good financial skills early benefits everyone and the supporting the ACCC meets our promise to support and help strengthen our communities.”
