Rockland Trust Launches 2013 Food Pantry Drive

Expands Food Drive to Local Pantries in Middlesex Country

ROCKLAND, Mass. (March 27, 2013) - Rockland Trust today announced the launch of its 2013 Food Pantry Drive at all branches throughout its footprint, which for the first time, includes the communities of Arlington, Burlington, Chestnut Hill, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Somerville, and Woburn. From April 1 to April 30, the bank's branches will serve as collection points for non-perishable and canned food and other household items to replenish the shelves of pantries throughout Rockland Trust's service area.

"With the challenging economy affecting our friends, families, and fellow citizens, food pantries in our communities are feeling the pressure from increased demand for their support," said Chris Oddleifson, President and CEO of Rockland Trust. "We invite our colleagues, customers, and the general public, to join us in taking action to help feed the hungry in our communities."

Beginning on April 1, boxes will be located at each branch to collect food items. In addition, Rockland Trust will make a donation to each pantry participating in the food drive.
