Rockland Trust Sponsors Fall River Public Library’s Summer Reading Club

ROCKLAND, Mass. (June 25, 2013) - Rockland Trust today announced its support of the Fall River Public Library's Reading Club for children with a $3,200 donation. The program lasts six weeks throughout the summer at all three Fall River library locations at 104 North Main Street, 1310 South Main Street, and 1386 Pleasant Street. This year's theme, "Go WILD for Books," features a variety of themed lessons, performances, and craft activities for young children and their families.

"At Rockland Trust we strive to support the communities in which we live and work," said Kim Cousineau, Rockland Trust Fall River Branch Manager. "We are pleased to once again be a part of Fall River Public Library's Reading Club, and help give children the opportunity to learn, read, and have fun this summer."

The Reading Club begins on July 8 with the Summer Reading Club Kick-Off Celebration and concludes on August 23. During the six weeks, children age 12 and under will earn small prizes, and receive a reading certificate and book award upon completing the program. Last summer, more than 1,050 children and their parents participated in the "Read, For an Awesome Adventure" program.

"This contribution from Rockland Trust helps us make the "Go WILD for Books" summer reading program possible," said David Mello, Fall River Public Library's Children's Supervisor. "The Bank's generous support allows us to continue in our mission to encourage young readers and have fun with reading."
