Rockland Trust to Sponsor the Boston Breakers’ 2014 Season

The Boston Breakers announced today a partnership with Rockland Trust. The Massachusetts-based bank is a 2014 season sponsor and the official sponsor of the Boston Breakers Development Program. The aim of this Development Program is to educate players and coaches at the grassroots level, providing them with the expert instruction and attention needed to perfect their soccer abilities.

"I am thrilled to have Rockland Trust as a sponsoring partner. Our organizations' goals are closely aligned, with the aim of giving back to local communities and building brand awareness," said Boston Breakers General Manager Lee Billiard.

The Boston Breakers Development Program provides supplementary training programs to local communities. Soccer players, ages nine to fourteen, will remain with their town teams, but will receive instruction from Boston Breakers players and coaches.

"At Rockland Trust, we value local organizations such as our own, which make community outreach a core part of their mission," said Jane Lundquist, Executive Vice President and Director of Retail Delivery, Business Banking & Home Equity Lending at Rockland Trust. "The Boston Breakers women's soccer team promotes healthy living, gender equality and sportsmanship among fans of all ages. We are excited and honored to sponsor their 2014 season."

The Boston Breakers Development Program will also look to hold Development Training Centers (DTCs) in local communities across Massachusetts. These DTCs will provide structured training sessions, involving Boston Breakers players, targeting the elite players in the town programs.

Rockland Trust will also sponsor four-day development clinics for recreational and competitive soccer players, ages five to seventeen, during school vacation weeks and throughout the summer. The camps will be coached by Boston Breakers players and staff and will take place in Andover, Belmont, Freetown-Lakeville, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton, Newton, Reading, Saugus, Weston and Woburn.
