Rockland, Mass. (September 5, 2018) – The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation presented a $10,000 donation to Pine Manor College in support of the College’s Initiative for Student Success. Launched in 2017, the program provides each Pine Manor College student with a personal academic advisor and a personal success coach. This exceptional support system was intentionally designed to accomplish a graduation rate of 4-times the national average for the student population the college serves.
“We’re grateful for the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation’s investment in this important initiative,” said Thomas O’Reilly, President of Pine Manor College. “This will strengthen our efforts and help the college maintain its 100% success rate, ensuring that all of our graduates go onto careers or advance studies.”
Through a holistic and collaborative institutional approach, the Initiative for Student Success aims to increase students’ likelihood of graduating by offering a variety of support and resources. The program helps students succeed academically through experiential learning opportunities and unlimited professional tutoring. Additionally, students are encouraged to obtain professional experiences through mandatory internships and service-learning projects, as well as through various campus activities, workshops, and other engagements in the community.
“The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation is proud to help Pine Manor College support their students’ growth and success through this extraordinary initiative,” said Edward Seksay, Chair of the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation Board of Directors. “Life-long learning is a priceless gift that benefits everyone and supporting Pine Manor’s mission helps us deliver on our promise to serve as a good community partner.”
The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation is an affiliated foundation of Rockland Trust Company. The Foundation focuses its charitable giving on four main areas: Education, health and human services, youth programs, and community development.
