Douglas Butler is Senior Vice President and Director of Research, and has been with Rockland Trust since 2004. Doug is responsible for developing asset allocation models, selecting external investment managers, and developing new investment products. He oversees the research analyst team and equity research process. He is a Portfolio Manager on the Bright Rock Quality Large Cap and Bright Rock Mid Cap Growth Funds. He serves as the Co-Chair of Rockland Trust’s Diversity Council, which spearheads the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts.
Doug has worked in the financial services industry since 1991. Prior to joining Rockland Trust, Doug had a consulting business, specializing in mergers and acquisitions consulting for private manufacturing firms. Before starting his own business, he worked as an Equity Portfolio Manager for Sanford C. Bernstein International Investment Management group. Doug received a BA in Economics from Trinity College. He holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations.
Doug is a member of the CFA Institute, the Boston Security Analysts Society, and the Williams Club. He is the Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee for the Town of Wakefield. Doug resides in Wakefield with his family.
