Karl Farmer is a Vice President and Portfolio Manager and has been with Rockland Trust since 2017. Karl is responsible for integrating an investment strategy that reflects our client’s objectives, financial goals, and risk tolerance including custom asset allocation, long-term goal planning, and securities research.
Karl has worked in the financial services industry since 1998. Prior to joining Rockland Trust, he was a Portfolio Manager for Abbot Downing, a division of Wells Fargo focused on the needs of ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, as well as foundations and endowments. Before that, he was a Portfolio Manager for BBVA Compass and Invesco, the latter where he managed different mutual funds totaling over $4B in small and mid-cap growth strategies.
Karl holds a BS in Economics from Texas A&M University and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Boston. He is also a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council – a multi-disciplinary community of over 700 estate and wealth planning professionals.
Karl currently resides in Newton with his wife and two sons. Through fundraising efforts, he and his family have raised over $100,000 for autism organizations.
