Rockland Trust Charitable Foundations Grants $45,000 to MassBay Community College

Wellesley, MA – December 07, 2022 – The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce a $45,000 grant to MassBay Community College to further invest in their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. The MassBay CNA program is an eight-week training program comprised of remote lectures, on-campus skills lab, and clinical work. The grant will fund the full cost of tuition, supplies, and tutoring for the 2022-2023 school year for 50 students of color, coming from low-income households within the MetroWest region. 

“We are grateful for the opportunity to help fund MassBay Community College’s thoughtfully developed CNA program,” said Andrea Borowiecki, Vice President of Charitable Giving & Community Engagement at Rockland Trust. “This grant will provide a group of students, with limited means, a path to enhance their career options and close the economic opportunity path.”  

At the end of the program, participating students will gain a CNA certification. Additionally, MassBay will offer career counseling and facilitate interviews for the students with local employers. The college has a longstanding reputation of being a tremendous partner and educator within the healthcare industry.
