Rockland Trust Designated as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality

Hanover, Mass. – January 22, 2020 – Rockland Trust Company, a full-service commercial bank headquartered in Massachusetts and the wholly-owned subsidiary of Independent Bank Corp. (NASDAQ Global Select Market: INDB), received a perfect score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s premier  benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality. This is the fifth consecutive year that Rockland Trust has received a perfect score from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s CEI. Rockland Trust joins the ranks of more than 680 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year.

The Rockland Trust Pride Alliance is an employee group comprised of 50 individuals which meets monthly and makes recommendations to the executive leadership team on partnerships, events, and organizations to support.

The 2020 CEI evaluates companies based on detailed criteria falling under five categories: non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, demonstrated organizational competency and accountability around LGBTQ diversity and inclusion, public commitment to LGBTQ equality and responsible citizenship.
