Needham, MA- December 10, 2019 – Rockland Trust Bank celebrated the grand opening of its newest branch with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1450 Highland Avenue in Needham, in the heart of the town’s business district. The branch will be led by John O’Hara, who will manage a team of three relationship bankers. Rockland also marked its arrival in the city with a $10,000 donation to local nonprofit Circle of Hope.
The new Needham location will complement Rockland Trust’s existing branches in nearby Newton and Wellesley, providing customers with more convenient banking options. It is centrally located across from Needham Town Hall and the MBTA’s Needham Center commuter rail station.
Branch Manager John O’Hara joins Rockland Trust with nearly a decade of banking experience. He most recently served as a Branch Manager at Berkshire Bank and previously held several positions with TD Bank. John has a degree in business administration from Ithaca College.
“We’re delighted to join the Needham community and expand Rockland Trust’s presence in the Needham area,” said Margaret McCarthy, Senior Vice President of Retail Branch Administration at Rockland Trust. “John’s industry experience and local relationships will be a great asset for our organization and for our customers.”
The new branch features two ATMs with live teller services. Like those at Rockland Trust’s downtown Boston location, the video tellers provide customers with additional hours of service (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) Mon – Fri and 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturdays. In addition to video, text and audio capabilities, the ATMs will offer check scanners, signature pads, and dispense cash in multiple denominations. Other branch features and capabilities include an open floor plan with conversation areas, and a dedicated Business Banking Officer and an Investment Management Financial Consultant.
Rockland Trust is also celebrating becoming a part of the Needham community with special events and activities during December. The Bank was a sponsor of the Town’s annual Christmas celebration – Needham Lights – on December 7th. For the branch’s opening week, refreshments from local businesses will greet guests when they arrive and hot chocolate will also be handed out to passersby on Dec. 12th.
