Hanover, MA – August 14, 2023 – Rockland Trust is excited to announce the launch of Ms. Money’s Classroom, an innovative online musical curriculum tailored to K-5 students. This groundbreaking initiative is aimed at fostering financial literacy and educational enrichment. The curriculum is available in both English and Spanish and, not only engages K-5 students but provides a teacher-driven lesson plan that aligns with academic standards set by the State of Massachusetts’ Department of Education.
“Ms. Money’s Classroom is easy for teachers and parents and exciting for students,” says Julie Beckham, AVP/Financial Education Development & Strategy Officer at Rockland Trust. “I’ve performed as Ms. Money to over 80,000 students since 2011 and what I have learned is that students really want to learn about money and they really want to have fun! Ms. Money’s Classroom hits both those marks while also siting specific MA standard frameworks in the downloadable lesson plan.”
Ms. Money’s Classroom features an animated introductory video and five original songs, each addressing different aspects of financial literacy and decision-making. Accompanied by engaging activity sheets, these resources transform age-appropriate financial concepts into relatable and enjoyable experiences. Students, teachers and families can embark on a musical journey towards financial understanding, all while having fun!
