Boston, MA - March 9, 2020 – Rockland Trust provided a $10,000 sponsorship to ArtsEmerson, a leading presenter of contemporary world theatre that gives a voice to diverse narratives through inclusive, community-engaging productions. Rockland Trust’s donation will be used to sponsor ArtsEmerson’s TodayTix Mobile Rush program, making theatre more accessible for all regardless of economic status.
Through a partnership with TodayTix, a mobile-first ticketing platform, $10 tickets will be made available on day of show (subject to availability) for all stage performances during ArtsEmerson 2020 Season and its Summer Special Engagement, Drumfolk (July 22-August 1). As the underwriter of the program, Rockland Trust will enable ArtsEmerson to further broaden access to all, including audiences who historically have been left without opportunities to attend and be enriched by the theatre in Greater Boston.
“We’re proud to support ArtsEmerson’s mission to engage and deepen our connections with each other through the arts,” said Christopher Oddleifson, CEO of Rockland Trust. “As an organization dedicated to strengthening our communities, Rockland Trust is thrilled to help make theatre more accessible to everyone.”
"At ArtsEmerson, we endeavor to foster civic transformation through the arts; and in order to do that, we need the theater to be fully reflective of the rich diversity of the communities,” said David C. Howse, Executive Director of ArtsEmerson. “We are pleased to align our vision and values with Rockland Trust on the launch of our Mobile Rush program which makes it possible for more families to experience the joy and transformative nature of art by providing more affordable ticket options for our many communities.”
