Rockland Trust’s Affiliated Charitable Foundations announce $123,000 in Support of Local Non-Profits During the Third Quarter of 2020

Hanover, MA – November 12, 2020 – Rockland Trust’s two affiliated charitable foundations (Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation, Inc. and Rockland Trust-Blue Hills Charitable Foundation, Inc.) announced a combined contribution of $123,000 in support of 30 local organizations providing services to at-risk populations during the third quarter of 2020.

“We are grateful to be able to support these organizations and their invaluable service to our communities,” said Edward Seksay, President and Chair of both the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation, Inc. and the Rockland Trust – Blue Hills Charitable Foundation, Inc.

In addition to the Bank’s charitable donations, Rockland Trust employees have supported community organizations with their time and leadership. Worcester-based Business Banking Officer Elyson dos Santos was recently appointed to the Development & Communications Committee of the Board of Directors for Dress for Success Worcester, one of the recipients of a Q3 grant.

“Dress for Success Worcester is thrilled to have Rockland Trust partner with us as we focus on the important work we do in the community,” said Justina Lachapelle, Executive Director at Dress for Success Worcester Inc. “The addition of Elyson dos Santos to our Board of Directors and the funding that the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation has provided will help us to actualize our mission of promoting the economic independence of women.”

During the third quarter of 2020 the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation provided support to 17 organizations including:

• Coastal Foodshed Inc.: An organization based in New Bedford that connects farmers and their products to underserved, low-income residents.
• Norwell Visiting Nurse Association: Located in Norwell, support will be utilized for the Pat Roche Hospice Home, which provides charitable assistance for low-income hospice home patients and their families.
• Institute for Energy and Sustainability, Inc. also known as WorcLab, based in Worcester, fosters innovation by promoting the growth of startup companies where entrepreneurs can launch and grow their business.
  
  

The Rockland Trust – Blue Hills Charitable Foundation provided support to 13 organizations during the third quarter including:

• The Urban Farming Institute Of Boston Inc.: Based in Mattapan, The Urban Farming Institute develops and promotes urban farming in order to transform neglected land, create jobs and create a more locally based food system.
• The Arc of South Norfolk Inc.: Located in Westwood, funds will be utilized to enhance support for the over 2,300 individuals with disabilities that the organization serves.
• Southwest Boston Senior Services (aka ETHOS): Serving Boston’s older adults, ETHOS supports the coordination and delivery of high quality, affordable home and community-based care.
