2024 Rockland Trust scholarship program.

Are you or someone you know looking to apply for a scholarship?

Rockland Trust’s annual scholarship program opens on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 7:00 AM EST.

  • Up to sixteen scholarships of $3,000 each will be granted1.
  • Awards are renewable2 for up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned.
  • Applicants must reside in one of the following counties: Barnstable, Bristol, Dukes, Essex, Middlesex, Nantucket, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk, or Worcester Counties in Massachusetts; along with Providence County, Rhode Island.
  • The Scholarship portal will close on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 4:00pm EST, or before once 1,500 applications are fully submitted.

Applications will be considered based on financial need, academic performance, participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, and unusual personal or family circumstances.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a high school senior, graduate, or GED recipient (current college undergraduates are ineligible)
  • Plan to enroll in part time or full time undergraduate study for the first time3 at an accredited two or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year (2024-2025)
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)


Disclosures:

  1. Twelve awards of $3,000 each will be provided there are eligible applicants, and there will be an award granted to one recipient from each of the 11 counties. Four awards of 3,000 each will be given in preference to applicants who self-identify as coming from a single-parent family. These four award applicants must reside in East Boston, MA (zip code 02128); Revere, MA (zip codes 02150 and 02151); or Winthrop, MA (zip code 02152).
  2. Scholarships are renewable based on the awardee’s continued enrollment and maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  3. Students who participated in college courses while in high school are eligible.
Immediate family members of colleagues of Rockland Trust are ineligible to apply.
