What does community service mean to you?
"Community service gives me the opportunity to dedicate time to support and understand the community which is always supporting me. To me, being involved in my community means choosing the better choice for us all: choosing to lend a helping hand, choosing to pursue endeavors that benefit more than myself, and choosing to learn more about the world and the citizens of our planet. Being philanthropically involved in my community sparks a unique exhilaration in me, inspiring me and fellow volunteers to actively create change in our neighborhoods."

And of course, I love listening to music every minute of the day. Aside from adoring Bollywood music, my favorite music genres are Pop and Indie Rock."

What does community service mean to you?
"Community service reaches far beyond the textbook definition of helping others. It is forming friendships. It is providing unconditional support. It is compassion. It is empathy. Community service has nothing to do with the accumulation of volunteer hours, and everything to do with the fulfillment that those hours bring. The opportunity that I was given to lead the Club of Social Concern at Woburn Memorial High School has completely transformed my perception of the world. It has caused me to become deeply passionate about becoming an active member in my community, where I know that I am a part of something much larger than myself."
What is one interesting fact about you?
"I have been playing the piano since the third grade! I took lessons for around 5 years- performing in many talent shows throughout elementary and middle school- before I began to pursue music on my own. I love to challenge myself to learn new songs and even write a few of my own. In addition to the piano, I have been teaching myself how to play the guitar, which has been a fun experience over this past year!"

What does community service mean to you?
"To me, giving back to the community means selflessly dedicating my time and energy to the well-being of the community. I have gained self-confidence through dedicating my time and energy to multiple organizations in Nantucket and doing good for others, and my community has always provided me with a natural sense of accomplishment. As I embark upon the next chapter of my life, I want to learn communication skills, professionalism, time management, and the ability to cooperate and work with different people than myself through community service. Having a sense of community has always united me in Nantucket, and I want to do the same in the future and connect with different people by taking on challenges."

What does community service mean to you?
"Community service means giving back to the community that has given me so much. Throughout high school, I have been involved in numerous community service organizations that have pushed me to get involved and help others. I have learned that the fraction of my time serving someone, even in seemingly small ways makes a big difference. Simply donating a coat, canned goods, or toys can change a person's perspective drastically."
